 Reading Half Marathon Runners Workshops The Reading Half Marathon is approaching fast! MOTI is putting on three runners workshops to prepare you for the big day.
We’ve has put together a team of experts to cover every subject you need for a half marathon race. This includes The MOTI team, Joanna Bottiglieri, The Drummond Clinic, Ellie Barnes, Jamie Shillam and Berkshire Physio.
The three themed sessions will each have a group practical session followed by a theory session. We’ll cover running technique, approaches to training, training plans, recovery, injury prevention advice, nutrition, strengthening/conditioning, flexibility, equipment selection, gait analysis and race prep for the big day.
The workshops are suitable for everyone, from total novices through to those more experienced. You’ll run away with the information and support you’ll need to have a fun and successful race.
During each workshop, there will be an open Q&A session, giving you a chance to talk through how your training is going, and to get any advice on any challenges you may have.
The course dates and session themes are:
Sunday 29 Jan, 10am – 1pm The Fundamentals of Half Marathon Training - including a group technique session.
Sunday 19 Feb, 10am – 1pm Strategies for achieving your half marathon goal - including a interval, speed and hill work Session
Sunday 11 March, 10am - 1pm Tapering & Race Day Preparation - including a group endurance run
Cost of the course was £60 but is now just £20 which includes:

 NEW!! Beginner's 'Zero to 5k' Run Group every Thursday 6pm Is your goal for 2012 to get running fit? If so, come join us on Thursday evenings, and let us guide you to your first 5k run. Our eight-week program is designed to slowly build your stamina and strength with sessions filled with variety and fun.

Stay safe and motivated with MOTI Group Runs - Thurs 6.00pm There's nothing like a group session to motivate and refresh your approach to exercise
Our 'Run for Everyone' weekly running sessions of approx 45 mins led by Jamie, and are for all runners from beginners, to those more experienced.
The beginners enjoy a steady run with ample time to get tips on running technique and how to train more effectively.
Those more advanced take part in more specific sessions such as fartlek, hills or intervals providing you with great opportunities to move beyond your fitness plateau.
Our group runs will start at 6.00pm every Thursday evening. We'll make sure you're watered before and after your run with a few nutrition treats from SIS, Mulebar and Honeystinger to keep you energised.
January/February training plan We run a monthly periodised training plan to help everyone improve their fitness. For more information please click the 'Group Runs' tab to the left.
 Advance Gym Reading gait event 12pm till 2pm, 30th January 2012 Try out Moti's video gait analysis free, for a quick spot check on your running shoes, and chat to our team about running, training, and kit. We will be in the gym from 12pm till 2pm. Book at reception!
 BMF Reading open morning 5th Feb 10am till 12pm British Military Fitness Reading open morning
Members of the awesome bootcamp BMF Reading can come into store for an open morning on Sunday 5th Feb 2012 from 10am till 12pm. We will be doing gait analyisis to make sure your current trainers are right for you.
We will also have our instore running coach Jamie Shillam and our sports massage therapists Joanna Bottiglieri who will be on hand to give you tips on running and helps with any current niggles and injuries.
